BA Staff vote for strike action and cause a rush to book cheap flights


Sharm El Sheikh, EgyptBritish Airways cabin crew have once again voted in favour of strike action following a ballot held by union Unite so say reports in the travel press.

Its believed that a strike will now take place after 81% of Unite members voted for industrial action, following an 80% turnout. The dispute with BA is over jobs, pay and working conditions, no dates for the strike have yet been announced as the union has said it would not be announcing any strike dates as it still hoped to continue negotiations with the airline.


Unite members originally voted for strike action over Christmas last year but it was called off after BA won a High Court ruling that the ballot was illegal due to the inclusion of staff members who had already left the company.
