Rhodes hosts athletes from other islands

RhodesVisitors to the sunny beaches of Rhodes this summer will share the golden sand and clear waters with athletes from islands around the world.

The NatWest Island Games will compete across a range of disciplines from June 30th to July 6th on one of the Mediterranean's most popular tourist destinations.

With sports from football and archery to gymnastics and volleyball, holidaymakers can watch competitive sports on a sunny retreat and then share the beach with the athletes as they unwind in the sun.

Rhodes, once home to one of the wonders of the world, has become a wonderland for tourists looking for sun and readily available accommodation and activities.

The Colossus of Rhodes, the tallest construction in world in its time, has given way to high rise five star hotels and the seas it once overlooked are now a hive of activity for water sports lovers.

Windsurfers and water skiers skip across tranquil waters, divers explore beneath the waves and beach bound bathers bob peacefully to the gentle rhythms of the Mediterranean Sea.

With regular flights to Rhodes, visitors travelling to the island from the UK can feel the sand between their feet in no time.
