More holidaymakers use Nottingham in January
Some 340,069 people jetted off from Nottingham in January 2008, compared to 293,786 the previous year.
The figures represent continued success for the East Midlands hub, after it achieved an annual passenger increase of 14.5 per cent in 2007.
EMA has recently ensured that it will continue to thrive this year by adding a number of new destinations to its route network, including Palma de Mallorca.
Penny Coates, the airport's managing director, said: "We are pleased to report another successful month of passenger growth.
"These figures indicate that the airport is meeting the needs of passengers across the region and beyond. This is a tremendous start to the year and we are hopeful that the momentum will continue throughout 2008."
