A survey of hoteliers from European destinations such as
Mahon revealed that they welcome Brits, as they are the third biggest spenders on their holidays.
Only Americans and Russians came ahead of Britons in the big spenders table, with all three taking advantage of high class accommodation at the sunny destinations they visit.
Responses to a survey of 15,000 hoteliers revealed that the least favourite nation of holidaymakers is France.
India, China and Russia were also at the bottom of the table of good tourists.
The most welcome tourists were the Japanese, who were said to be polite and tidy.
Britons, who can take advantage of cheap flights to
Mahon and other European destinations, were voted the second worst dressed holidaymakers.
Many Brits will try to avoid the traditional tourist spots and go on slightly more adventurous or cultured holidays to destinations like
Mahon, to avoid other UK travellers, after the survey revealed they are considered to be rude, noisy and poor tippers.
