The holiday resort of LARNACA on Aphrodite's island of Cyprus has launched a rickshaw sightseeing service to enhance the facilities it offers to holiday makers visiting the popular holiday resort.
The rickshaws, known as City Cruisers, will be used to transport holiday makers on three routes initially in the resort.
They will be operated by City Ambassadors who are young people fluent in at least two languages and who have been trained on the history and culture of Cyprus, Larnaca and the surrounding resorts.
Mayor of Larnaca Andreas Moiseos said the service will give tourists the chance to get to know the town even better. ‘We are certain of the success of the endeavor,' Moiseos said.
The City Cruisers are powered by a solar-charged battery and of course the driver's legs.
Initially two have already put into service with two more expected in the resort during March.
