Heraklion in Crete is to play host to an arts festival featuring more than 70 artists and performers, it has been revealed.
Taking place between June 1st and September 25th 2007, the Summer Arts Festival is an annual event that regularly attracts tourists to the area.
Organised by the Heraklion City council, it will feature the best of different types of performance, ranging from theatre to ballet and live music.
Groups that have performed at the Summer Arts Festival previously include such luminaries as the Bolshoi Ballet and the Kirov Opera.
Yiannis Kourakis, the mayor of Heraklion City, said: "We are proud to present the Heraklion Summer Arts Festival.
"As you will see from the programme, this year's festival features over seventy different performances, involving artists from a host of countries."
Mr Kourakis went on to add that the festival is "sure to add to your enjoyment of the city" and that Heraklion welcomes everyone's support of the event.
