Monarch makes move on Murcia

FaroMonarch airlines has announced that it is to operate a service from London Gatwick to Murcia, following British Airways' decision to leave the route in October 2005.

Starting in May 2007, the service will offer passengers flights from as little as £42 one-way and will include a host of extras for them, including complimentary newspapers, 20 kg luggage allowance and pre-booked seats.

Return tickets cost as little as £68 and are already available for those looking to plan their summer holidays well in advance.

Tim Jeans, managing director of Monarch's scheduled services, said: "There has been huge customer demand for Monarch to launch a London to Murcia service and we are delighted to be able to respond to this.

"Since launching services to Murcia from Birmingham in April this year we have carried over 45,000 passengers to the Costa Calida and are confident that the addition of the route from Gatwick will be another huge success."

The addition of the Gatwick - Murcia route will add to those already offered by Monarch, including flights to Ibiza, Lisbon, Tenerife, Alicante and Faro.
