An increased number of flights and one of the world's highest number of blue flag beaches is expected to see an upturn in tourism on the Greek islands like
Rhodes,
Crete (
Chania) and
Corfu.
According to Greece Magazine, property buyers and owners will be excited by the growth prospects of the market on the Greek islands as travel opens up and holidaymakers are tempted by the allure of the crystalline beaches.
Greece performed incredibly well in the 2007 Blue Flag awards, with its miles and miles of coastline receiving 430 Blue Flags, the second highest total for any country.
A Blue Flag award guarantees that a beach or marina is up to exacting standards across a range of criteria like water quality and hygiene.
With regular flights to
Chania,
Crete and
Corfu departing regularly from airports around the UK such as Manchester, Birmingham and Luton, Brits have incredible access to some of Europe's best beaches.
