The spectacular sand sculptures which are exhibited at the Lara Beach Park Complex, on one of Antalya's most popular beaches, have attracted much interest from visitors and holidaymakers alike.
Local tourism officials agree that the festival has increased the district's tourism profile by allowing tourists the pleasure of a cultural and artistic interest along with the normal holidaymaker activities of sun, sand and sea.
The sculptures were formed by a team of some 40 sculptors from many countries, and it is estimated that they used in the region of 5,000 tons of sand in the exhibition.
