Antalya's hotels 'best in world'

More than one in ten of the world's best hotels are in the Antalya region of Turkey, according to the world's largest travel operator.

Its list of the world's best 100 hotels included 11 in sunny Antalya, more than any other region in Turkey.

TUI, which owns Thomson and Thomsonfly, came to its decision based on polls and customer satisfaction surveys and confirming what many holidaymakers have felt themselves.

A thriving tourism industry, Antalya has seen investment in the area boom, with new infrastructure and accommodation built on a regular basis.

The region also offers a blend of traditional seaside and sun recreation activities as well as towns steeped in history and culture.

Visitors arriving on one of many regular flights to Antalya airport can take advantage of rental cars to explore the region while basing themselves in some of the best hotels in the world.
