Antalya Museum is among Europe's top ten museums, according to director Selahattin Eyup Aksu.
It has 53,000 works on display including a hall of sarcophagi which includes a Dionsysiak sarcophagus from the second century AD.
The museum, which was housed in mosques before its most recent incarnation, has won the Europe Council Special Award.
