Watch this space say airflights.co.uk. Holiday makers to Turkey or more importantly those that head to the popular holiday hot spots of Alanya, Yesiloz, Side, Manavgat and Anamur may be in for a shorter transfer from the airport next year. Currently this area of Turkey uses the impressive, but busy Antalya airport (code AYT) and although an excellent airport it is some 120 kilometers away from the main cheap holiday resorts frequented by UK holiday makers. With cheap resort transfers taking some 2 hours in a cost effective shuttle transfer or around an hour and a quarter in a private taxi transfer they can be tiresome after a cheap flight into Antalya from the UK often meaning that holiday makers reach their cheap hotel in Side in the early hours of the morning. The area around the holiday resort of Alanya has also one of Turkey's largest expatriate communities and shorter transfer times will also boost the property market in the region thus feeding more cheap holiday villas and apartments into the market for UK holiday makers to choose from. The opening of the long awaited Gazipasa airport at Alanya will have a massive impact as a holday resorts proximity to an airport has become increasingly important to a resorts continuing success, Gazipasa airport being just 30 minutes away will be a major boost for the Alanya area as a holiday resort.
