Spain is set to be this year's top value-for-money holiday resort, according to new research.
A study conducted by an online travel website revealed that anyone looking for a budget trip this year should consider looking at Spain, where prices have fallen significantly over the past 12 months.
For example, resort prices within the even popular Costa Del Sol have dropped by 13 per cent as the cost of flight travel and accommodation continues to fall due to increased competition in the holiday market.
Ibiza is also set to be a popular choice for bargain holidaymakers, with a summer break in 2007 costing 14 per cent less this year - meaning the average package deal cost has fallen from £474 to just £406.
A spokesman for the company behind the survey explained: "For 2007 it seems there is genuine value to be had. Overall, prices to the top 30 destinations have risen only slightly and for 11 destinations, prices have actually fallen."
